Custom Manufacturing Built Around Your Bag Specification

Our factory customizes liquid filter bags and configures filtration solutions according to a client’s requirements. For replacement matching and application specific filtration, a size number alone does not resolve the seal profile, basket support and finished dimensions. Hence our engineering support begins with a client’s existing bag, drawing, photos or part number.

Custom Manufacturing Built Around Your Bag Specification
01

Configure the complete bag

  • Polypropylene felt, polyester felt, nylon mesh or PTFE media.
  • Standard sizes #1 to #5 and custom diameter or length.
  • Stainless steel ring or polypropylene ring matched to the housing interface.
  • Seam, bottom reinforcement, and multilayer construction are reviewed for the duty.
02

Start with the operating requirement

  • Fluid composition, concentration and cleaning chemistry.
  • Flow, temperature, viscosity and solids loading.
  • Required particle removal and accepted rating or test basis.
  • Order quantity, destination and required dispatch date.

Prepare a usable inquiry

Use the Bag Specification Check to record the inputs before requesting a sample. We review OEM matching against the complete specification; an original part number starts the comparison and does not establish an approved equivalent by itself.

Have a worn bag or a drawing? Request a specification review before bulk ordering.

Filter Media Matched to the Liquid and Particle Load

Our felt and mesh filter bags are used in the mechanical filtration of industrial liquids, including bag filters for pre-filtration water treatment and chemical processing. Sometimes viscosity is so high that it changes the flow and loading. Also, some particles, such as soft and gelatinous particles, behave differently than rigid particles; therefore, the medium and micron rating need to be chosen based on the batch size and the result to be achieved, rather than judged based on the label.

It is not always correct to choose a finer grade for the required batch.

Filter Media Matched to the Liquid and Particle Load
Media Confirmed temperature maximum Selection focus

PP / polypropylene felt

80°C Depth filtration for compatible water and process liquids; review solids loading and chemical resistance.

PET / polyester needle felt

120°C Evaluate the liquid, cleaning exposure and felt construction for oil, resin or process duties.

Nylon mesh

160°C Surface filtration with a woven mesh opening; assess particle shape and the cleaning method.

PTFE

160°C Specialty chemical duty reviewed against the complete bag construction.

Multilayer is a construction choice

We adjust our multilayer configurations to certain media arrangements when the application calls for it. The number of layers does not necessarily indicate an absolute retention capacity, dirt-holding capacity or service life; agree on the required outcome and the method for validating it prior to sampling.

Felt and mesh are not interchangeable media; compare the removal and pressure-drop trade-off against the duty.

The temperature figures apply to the specified bag configuration; the ring, seam and liquid exposure must also be suitable.

“PE felt” in our bag specification means polyester / PET, not polyethylene.

For a standard felt starting point, review our PP felt filter bags.

Seal Rings, Seams and Reinforced Bottom Construction

Particles can go around the filter despite it having a micron label when the assembled filtration path does not perform as required. Our replacement review covers the ring or flange profile, side seam, bag bottom and support basket. Changing the media without resolving a seal mismatch or an unsupported bag leaves the failure path open.

Double-border industrial review of steel and polypropylene filter rings and flanges for B2B housings

Ring and flange fit

  • Our ring options include stainless steel and polypropylene.
  • Compare diameter, profile and seating against the housing and lid arrangement.
  • Check that the bag reaches and sits inside the correct basket.
Seam and reinforced bottom detail inspection of welded and sewn industrial filter bags

Seam and bottom details

  • We cut and sew filter bags to the confirmed construction.
  • We review bottom reinforcement for applications with stretching or bottom-seam damage.
  • Judging by the sample design and not the label alone, determine whether sewn or welded constructions are better.
“Rather than simply supplying standard filter elements, we help customers select, match and configure filtration products according to actual operating requirements.”

ECFB Bag Sizes and Configuration Limits

Our ECFB family of products includes the following sizes with non-standard dimensions based on your drawings. Rounded imperial size descriptions and the same size number are not interchangeable proof of fit; use the actual diameter, finished length and ring geometry.

Configuration Diameter × length Ordering check
Size #1 Ø180 × 420 mm Verify finished length and seal profile.
Size #2 Ø180 × 810 mm Match the installed basket and ring.
Size #3 Ø105 × 230 mm Check compact-housing dimensions.
Size #4 Ø102 × 380 mm Do not substitute another supplier’s diameter.
Size #5 Ø150 × 520 mm Confirm the housing and finished bag.
Rating envelope 0.5–400 µm Available grades depend on the selected medium and construction.
Custom dimensions To the confirmed drawing Agree dimensions and acceptance tolerances before production.

Differential pressure is a separate specification

The standard ECFB catalog lists PP, PET and nylon at 2.0 bar differential pressure at 20°C. Its hot-condition limits are PP 1.0 bar at 80°C, PET 1.0 bar at 120°C and nylon 1.0 bar at 80°C; these values do not rate every custom bag or replace the housing limit.

  • We confirm the applicable bag specification for the selected construction and duty.
  • System line pressure is not the pressure difference across the bag.
  • Do not infer a nylon differential-pressure limit at 160°C from its temperature listing.
  • ECFB specification record: the ECOFILTRONE product catalog and confirmed product data.

Inspection and Same-Duty Sample Validation

ECOFILTRONE™ verifies the confirmed dimensions and construction and reviews the required integrity, flow and filtration-performance checks, because a bag that fits the housing can still fail the removal requirement or develop a leakage path under the intended operating conditions. Our custom samples take 7 days to prepare; their acceptance criteria should be settled before the trial.

Inspection and Same-Duty Sample Validation

Close the gaps before repeat supply

Validation Protocol Options

Keep the tests distinct

  • ECOFILTRONE™ dimensional inspection checks fit.
  • Integrity inspection checks damage and leakage paths.
  • Filtration-performance testing is used to verify required particulate removal; where fiber migration is of concern, agree to the downstream cleanliness specification.

Specify the documents you need

  • ECOFILTRONE™ provides relevant technical data and material documentation for the specified product and application.
  • We verify requested compliance documents against the actual product, conditions of use and document holder.
  • For food-contact duty, review the entire construction and applicable documents before approval.

Compare the rating basis

Equal micron labels don’t guarantee equivalent efficiency. The basis, test liquid, particle characteristics and test conditions must be congruent with the acceptance criteria. Nominal and absolute labels aren’t automatically interchangeable.

A written removal criterion gives the sample a result to evaluate.
  • Product-specific examples: Eaton’s product-specific mesh and seam information and Donaldson’s liquid bag product documentation for examples of why construction and document scope matter.

From Replacement Review to Repeat Supply

Prior to bulk orders, we support review of application and specification and sample trials. Following order and delivery, we check compatibility, service-life and differential-pressure observations so that repeat orders follow the accepted configuration.

  1. STEP 01

Record the duty. Send the bag specification, fluid, flow, temperature, loading and cleaning method.

  2. STEP 02

Confirm the sample. We review media, dimensions, ring and construction, then confirm the quote and trial arrangement.

  3. STEP 03

Run a representative trial. Take clean-start and later pressure readings at matched flow, temperature and viscosity, and retain inlet and outlet results, as well as bag-condition observations.

  4. STEP 04

Set the repeat specification. Agree the accepted design and required documents before production, inspection, packaging and dispatch coordination.

Capture the reason a trial ends

Use the Same-Duty Trial Record to distinguish a planned batch change from increasing differential pressure, mechanical damage or removal failure. Long media life does not guarantee a reduction in batch change-outs. A service-life test that is stopped for a color change is not a completed service-life test.

  • Record the sample code, basket, seal seating and process conditions.
  • Set outlet-quality criteria, pressure limits and termination conditions before starting.
  • Keep installation, isolation and depressurization within the site and housing procedures.
Request sample support with your trial acceptance method.
From Replacement Review to Repeat Supply

Saudi Trial: Reinforced Size #2 PP Filter Bags

A Saudi customer reported bottom rupture and stretching in the existing bags. We supplied eight reinforced-bottom PP felt bags for a single-housing trial, specified as size #2, 50 µm and 7″ × 32″ in the project record.

  • PP felt with reinforced bottom construction.
  • Eight trial bags used in one housing.
  • Bag strength reviewed under the customer’s actual operation.
  • After about nine days, the customer reported no complaints about filter strength.
  • A subsequent order covered 200 bags.
  • The follow-up supports the trial’s strength observation; it does not establish a retention efficiency or service-life multiplier.
Reinforced Size #2 PP Filter Bags

Resolve the failure path before scaling up

Bottom reinforcement does not always resolve bag failure and is not a substitute for proper basket support or an approved operating limit. We review the seal, support and cleaning conditions with the failed-bag evidence before selecting a sample construction.

Request a reinforced-bag review with failure photos and operating details.

Selection Boundaries for the Filtration Duty

Small cartridges can clog during the batch when actual area and load do not match the process. Changing to a larger element or a finer micron rating alone does not demonstrate improved performance. A duty review is required to consider liquid and particle behavior and the required batch volume and downstream acceptance criteria.

Fine or critical final filtration:

specify the required efficiency and the method of validation; a nominal 1 micron or 5 micron bag label does not establish an absolute result.

High viscosity or solids loading:

compare available area, clean pressure drop and the required batch volume before choosing a finer grade.

Cleaning and reuse:

do not treat washable mesh as unlimited reuse; review the liquid, residue, cleaning exposure and post-cleaning condition.

Membrane protection:

place bag prefiltration within the full RO or UF pretreatment specification, rather than treating it as a complete treatment process.

FAQ: Custom Liquid Filter Bag Purchasing Questions

What should I send a filter bag manufacturer for an OEM replacement?

Send the original part number, drawing or sample with actual dimensions, media and micron rating and ring profile, housing reference, flow, temperature, fluid composition and the cleaning method. Our engineering support will identify the details that require confirmation before sampling.

Why can particles pass through a bag with the expected micron rating?

Consider the rating basis, particle shape, pressure difference, seal seating, seams and basket support. The path requires investigation; the micron number, alone, will not indicate the cause of bypass.

Is the smallest micron rating the best option?

Consider the rating, relative to removal and the actual load, and particle size. Finer media can block flow, or reach the change-out condition faster, especially with viscous liquids or high solids.

Do nominal and absolute bags with the same number perform alike?

No. Compare the defined efficiency and test conditions.

Can I match a replacement by size #2 alone?

In addition to the size name, consider diameter, finished length and ring profile and the support basket. We review these details before confirming a replacement sample.

Does PE felt mean polyethylene?

No. Our bag specification uses PE for polyester / PET needle felt.

Can I reuse a bag between different batches or colors?

Batch changes require control of color and formulation carryover and the removal of particles. Choose the cleaning or replacement method based on the actual product, residue and acceptance requirements.

Can the bag housing be installed horizontally?

Operator access affects filter change-out, but orientation also affects installation and support. Obtain the housing manufacturer’s approval for the mounting arrangement; selecting a custom bag does not approve the vessel orientation.

Does a multilayer bag automatically give absolute filtration?

No. Multilayer describes construction, not guaranteed retention efficiency.

What are the custom MOQ and sample terms?

Our custom-order minimum is 100 pieces. Samples are free and you pay the freight; standard-product trial quantities are confirmed for the selected product.

How long do samples and production take?

Our custom sample lead time is 7 days and custom bulk production takes 14 days. Stock products dispatch in 4–5 days; international transit is separate.

How should I compare filter bag manufacturers beyond price?

Consider the approved media, dimensions, seal and rating basis first. Compare what each quote includes for freight and inspection and the documents covered for the selected construction. Was the same sample trial done with the same liquid, flow, temperature and acceptance requirements?
