Glass Fiber High Flow Filter Cartridge for Fine Filtration

  • 0.3-100 µm source range
  • Ø154 mm
  • 20 / 40 / 60 inch
  • Inside-to-outside flow

The HFA Series glass fiber high flow filter cartridge combines glass-fiber media with a polypropylene cage, core and end cap for industrial liquid-filtration projects. ECOFILTRONE™ reviews the selected micron grade, rating basis, operating duty and housing interface during specification verification.

Glass Fiber High Flow Filter Cartridge HFA Series specifications and housing interface

Micron value and absolute rating are separate decisions

The supplied product record states a 0.3-100 µm removal-rating range. It does not state that every grade is absolute rated, so classification, test method and efficiency evidence are confirmed for the selected configuration.

HFA Glass-Fiber Configuration at a Glance

This page is for engineers and buyers screening a glass fiber filter cartridge for industrial water or process duty. The information below identifies the product family and the application review determines if a particular configuration fits the real system.

Two published limits, not one combined duty point

Temperature

The published maximum temperature is 80°C. Cleaning temperature, exposure time and liquid compatibility still belong in the application review.

Differential pressure

The published maximum operating differential pressure is 2.4 bar at 20°C. It is a limit, not a clean-element pressure drop curve or a value validated at 80°C.

HFA Micron Evidence Qualification Board

A high-flow label cannot answer how many cartridges a system needs. The HFA micron evidence board turns 6 rating and test inputs into a documented selection task without inventing a per cartridge flow rate. ISO 3968 provides method context for differential-pressure-versus-flow evaluation, not an HFA flow rating.

Evidence rule

A micron value is a selection input, not capture-efficiency proof. Confirm the exact ordered grade, rating basis and test method for the selected configuration.

Where Glass Fiber Fits in Fine Liquid Filtration

Glass fiber enters the shortlist when the process needs a fine-removal candidate and the liquid, target particle profile and operating conditions can be reviewed together. Media identity alone does not establish efficiency, contaminant capacity, chemical compatibility or service life.

Glass fiber and polypropylene remain application choices

As per the HFA source information, options for media within the series include glass fiber and polypropylene. The glass-fiber version on this page is not presented as universally better, because controlled media comparisons depend on formulation, test fluid, flow, particle challenge and terminal differential pressure.

Compatibility is checked for the designated fluid

Compatibility assessment methods specify particular materials to evaluate under defined fluid and exposure conditions; a material name is not a complete compatibility approval. 3 In order to assess the required configuration, details of the seals, bonding and other wetted parts need to be verified as well.

Glass Fiber Filtration Context

01 Particle objective

  • State the target particle or downstream cleanliness need.
  • Identify whether a nominal or absolute classification is required.
  • Define any efficiency or beta-ratio evidence needed for acceptance.

02 Liquid duty

  • Provide the base liquid and additives.
  • Include concentration, pH and cleaning chemistry.
  • State normal, upset and cleaning temperatures.

03 Hydraulic duty

  • Provide total system flow and viscosity.
  • State available housing count and connection data.
  • Define acceptable initial and change-out differential pressure.

20-, 40- and 60-Inch Configuration Review

Nominal length helps to define the product-family, but does not assure that a cartridge will seat, seal, or follow the required flow path. ECOFILTRONE evaluates the complete interface with the installed drawing or sample. ISO 3968 flow/pressure testing does not establish cartridge-to-housing interface equivalence.

20, 40, and 60-inch high flow filter cartridge configurations

20-inch configuration

Published nominal length: 20 inch. Confirm the housing seat, single-open-end interface, handle clearance and exact drawing before release.

40-inch configuration

Published nominal length: 40 inch. Check removal space, support geometry and the installed housing arrangement in addition to outside diameter.

60-inch configuration

Published nominal length: 60 inch. Confirm lifting and removal clearance as well as the full interface and housing dimensions.

Replacement-fit fields

Field Published or required status Why it matters
Outside diameter 154 mm published Diameter must match the installed housing and sealing arrangement.
Length 20 / 40 / 60 inch published Use an exact drawing rather than the nominal label alone.
End configuration Single open end with handle published Interface geometry and handle clearance affect installation.
Seal design and material Configuration-specific Required for sealing and liquid-compatibility review.
Housing details Buyer input required Seating depth and internal support determine actual fit.
Flow direction Inside to outside published A reversed flow path can invalidate a superficial size match.

HFA Series Specifications and Evidence Status

Unlike a catalog-only comparison, the table separates confirmed product features from evidence that remains grade or duty specific. The table supports ECOFILTRONE™ specification verification and reduces the risk of treating a micron value as capture-efficiency proof because ISO method context remains a separate evidence field.

Micron Rating vs Absolute Rating

Micron value

Describes a particle-size reference. It does not provide percentage captured.

Classification

Nominal or absolute wording requires a defined basis for the selected grade.

Test method

The method identifies fluid, challenge, flow and reporting conditions.

Efficiency evidence

Efficiency or beta data must show the test basis and grade being approved.

An absolute rated filter cartridge should be purchased against grade-specific rating and efficiency evidence, not the smallest number in a catalog range. ISO 16889 illustrates why removal, contaminant capacity and differential-pressure characteristics are separate reported results, but it does not certify this HFA product.

Selection vocabulary that still needs data

  • A cartridge filter or pleated filter label does not establish a high flow rate or low pressure drop.
  • Pore size, retention and filtration efficiency require a stated method and grade-specific result.
  • Dirt, dirt holding, dirt holding capacity and dirt-holding capacity are not published HFA values in the supplied evidence.
  • A long service life cannot be promised without the contaminant load, duty cycle and change-out rule.
  • Operating temperature must be reviewed with the exact liquid and exposure conditions.
  • If the process liquid is a solvent, send its composition and concentration for a compatibility review.
  • An O-ring or other seals must be confirmed from the ordered configuration. They cannot be inferred.

Lead times are confirmed with the quotation

The 4-5-day stock schedule and 14-day custom-batch schedule depend on final specification confirmation, availability, order quantity and the production plan. They are not universal dispatch guarantees before the order is technically released.

Bronze mismatch-cost card

  • Fit rework caused by an incomplete interface comparison
  • Additional validation when rating evidence is missing
  • Premature changeout when the duty baseline is not recorded
  • Downtime, labor and disposal attached to each unplanned change

There is no product-specific baseline to support a savings, payback, or service-life analysis. The linked worksheet can be used to project labor, downtime, and waste removal without guaranteeing ECOFILTRONE performance.

Production, Inspection and Documentation Support

There is variation in production equipment by product line and manufacturing facility. ECOFILTRONE organizes the processes and verification steps required for the confirmed product. It does not present one generic factory list as proof for every cartridge.

01

Production scope

  • Pleating and cartridge assembly
  • End-cap welding or bonding as applicable
  • Production follow-up against the approved configuration
02

Verification scope

Dimensional, integrity, flow and filtration-performance verification is selected according to product requirements. The order record identifies which checks apply.

03

Release coordination

  • Inspection follow-up
  • Packaging confirmation
  • Shipping coordination
04

Order-specific document review

Technical datasheets, drawings, material certificates and applicable compliance documents are reviewed for the exact product, application and actual certificate holder. Document availability is confirmed before the buyer treats a certificate or material statement as part of the order.

Replacement Matching Without Assumed Equivalence

Even if a cartridge appears nominal in size, ECOFILTRONE can distinguish differences in interfaces, seals, housings and flow paths. Dimensional fit, filtration evidence and operating limits are evaluated as separate approval considerations. ISO 16889 performance testing does not prove geometric or product equivalence.

  • Submit the installed reference. Send a copy of the model, drawing, photo, measured dimensions and housing information.
  • Compare the physical interface. Review the length, outside diameter, end configuration, handle clearance, seal type and how it is seated.
  • Check the flow path. Check that inside-to-outside flow matches the installed housing and process layout.
  • Define the media and the rating basis. Identify the liquid and particle target, and define nominal or absolute evidence, as required.
  • Evaluate the operating duty. Review temperature, flow, viscosity, pressure profile and the change-out rule against the published limits.
  • Validate before batch release. Approve the drawing, document set and sample or trial criteria before a larger order.

Analysis is support, not a life guarantee

Feedback from operation can be used to evaluate differential pressure rise and short change intervals. However, it does not imply ECOFILTRONE has agreed to a service life since contaminant load, liquid properties, operation of the system and change-out constraints are site-specific.

Industrial Water and Process Application Review

ECOFILTRONE provides filtration consumables, together with engineering support, for industrial applications. Each application card below states the decision inputs instead of implying that one HFA configuration is approved for every plant.

01 Industrial water treatment

Identify source water, solids and target grade. Define total flow and change-out differential pressure. Identify the duty (utility or process water, or other service).

02 RO and UF pretreatment

Provide feed-water conditions, upstream treatment, downstream protection objective and acceptable pressure loss. Suitability is assessed based on the membrane system duty.

03 Seawater desalination

Provide salinity, pretreatment train, biological/chemical exposure, and material requirements. A reference to a seawater project does not take the place of a configuration specific compatibility review.

04 Wastewater treatment and reuse

State the water matrix, variable solids, cleaning practice and reuse objective. Removal performance cannot be assessed by industry names alone.

05 Power generation

State the water circuit, temperature, chemistry, particle objective and document requirements. The selected cartridge is assessed against the actual process point.

06 Oil, gas, petrochemical & chemical

Provide the complete liquid composition, concentration, viscosity and exposure temperature. Chemical names and glass fiber media do not prove complete cartridge compatibility.

07 Food and beverage

State product-contact status, cleaning regime and required compliance documents. Approval for food contact is not implied by a general process description of filtration.

08 Pharmaceutical and life sciences

State cleanliness, validation, traceability and regulatory requirements. HFA does not imply a sterile or validated pharmaceutical configuration.

09 Electronics and high-purity water

Define upstream water quality, particle objectives, and downstream acceptance methods. High-purity application remains an assessment by the user, not a performance claim by the manufacturer.

Industrial Filtration Applications

Industrial water is not automatic drinking-water approval

Drinking-water contact standards assess the formulation, use conditions, production site and test results for a particular product. Municipal/potable water duty requires a separate product-level assessment.

Markets supported

ECOFILTRONE provides industrial filtration to North America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa and Latin America. Project implementation and supply experience includes Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Egypt, Tunisia, Bangladesh and Uruguay across filter bags, high-flow cartridges, pleated cartridges, melt-blown cartridges, string-wound cartridges and customized filtration products.

Honest Fit Limits and Alternative Paths

An efficient selection process also identifies when the HFA glass-fiber version should not be issued. The following conditions lead to an alternative configuration or deeper review of the evidence. ISO 16889 separates removal, capacity and differential-pressure results; HFA product-specific evidence remains necessary.

Duty above the temperature limit

If the required temperature exceeds 80°C, review a high-temperature construction instead of extending the HFA limit.

Verified absolute efficiency required

If the project requires a validated absolute rating, evaluate the selected grade’s method and efficiency evidence prior to approval.

Housing interface does not match

If the length, end geometry, seal, seating, or flow direction is different, consider an alternative configuration, or review the high-flow series.

Fluid or compliance status is unresolved

If compatibility or the required certification cannot be established, withhold the product selection until the liquid details and ownership of the documents are established.

Alternative Filtration Paths and Limits

Evidence still needed for performance selection

  • Grade-specific nominal or absolute classification
  • Efficiency or beta-ratio record tied to a defined method
  • Pressure-drop-versus-flow data for a stated fluid and viscosity
  • Filtration area, contaminant capacity and service-life baseline where required
  • Seal, bonding and complete wetted-material details for compatibility review

Request a Duty and Fit Review

Send the process liquid, temperature, total flow, viscosity, target micron, required rating evidence, pressure data, housing drawing, current model and quantity. ECOFILTRONE will use those inputs to review the configuration and return a written quotation within 24 hours when the RFQ is complete.

Samples and trial orders are available for suitable configurations. Replacement-fit checks are available for final evaluation. Lead time and documentation are confirmed based on specification, quantity and scheduled production.

Include these files when available

  • Current cartridge datasheet or part number
  • Housing drawing and measured dimensions

  • Process and pressure data
  • Required test method, certificate or document list

Frequently Asked Questions

The supplied HFA product information states a 0.3-100 µm removal-rating range. The exact grade and its rating basis are confirmed for the ordered configuration.

A micron value defines a particle-size reference, and an absolute-rating claim also requires a defined capture basis and supporting evidence of efficiency. The two should not be treated as synonymous.

The published nominal lengths are 20, 40 and 60 inches with an outside diameter of 154 mm. The exact drawing and housing interface are still pending approval.

RO and UF pretreatment is an application-review context. Feed conditions, total flow, the targeted grade, allowed pressure drop, housing, and downstream protection, are all considerations.

Provide liquid, viscosity, temperature, total flow, selected grade, housing count, inlet/outlet pressure and acceptable initial and change-out differential pressure. The name of the category alone does not establish rated flow.

Yes. Free samples are available for suitable configurations, the buyer pays freight, and trial orders are accepted.

No blanket absolute-rating claim is made. Request the classification, the test method and efficiency evidence for the grade you wish to approve.

The published maximum temperature is 80°C, and the published maximum operating differential pressure is 2.4 bar at 20°C. These are separate limits and not one validated 80°C/2.4-bar operating point.

Send full length, outside diameter, end and adapter geometry, handle clearance, seal design, seating details, flow direction and the current part number. More information is helpful, but nominal size alone is not proof of equivalence. Photographs and a housing drawing would be very helpful.

Compatibility with a given fluid and a document review will be necessary for these duties. No universal chemical, food-contact or drinking-water approval is implied by the material names.

Equivalence is determined case by case from the current model, drawing or sample, size, flow direction, operating duty and rating requirement. Nominal size by itself is not accepted as proof of equivalence.

Quotes are returned within 24 hours after the required information is received. Stocked items are scheduled in 4-5 days, a custom sample in 7 days and a custom batch in 14 days, subject to confirmation; custom orders start at 100 cartridges, with 30% deposit and 70% balance before shipping.
